Coaching Certification

Our organization is the world leader when it comes to producing high-quality ninja competitions. We sanction over 100 global qualifiers every year. We are the largest not for profit ninja organization. As a not for profit organization, one of our goals is to grow the sport through standardization and education. Our coaching certification is a monumental step in the right direction for the sport of ninja.

Coaches can become certified through our online training program. Currently, we are only offering our entry-level certification, NNL Floor Coach, online. This certification is required to be on the floor at NNL competitions.

To get started, make sure you have your own, personal NinjaWorks Athlete ID. Parents, please note: you must use your own, personal NinjaWorks Athlete ID for the NNL Coach Certification -- NOT a NinjaWorks Athlete ID of one of your children/dependents. Information on how to find or create your NinjaWorks Athlete ID can be found here.

Next, click the button below to purchase access to our online content. When you have completed the purchase, you will be emailed a link with an order number. Be sure to save the order number for later. You will need it during your exam.

Note you will need to purchase a background check later in the training program. The cost of the background check is not included in the purchase of materials.

Good luck, coaches!

Background Check Review Process

Step 1: Coaching Certification candidate (candidate) completes the background check as part of the Coaching Certification process as outlined here.

Step 2:
If the background check is passed, the review process is completed
If the background check is flagged or failed (flagged), proceed to Step 3

Step 3: The NNL background check administrator (administrator) will email the candidate within 48 hours to
inform them that their background check was flagged and will also make a courtesy call to the candidate
advising them to check for the email.  The email will be sent to the email address provided on the background
check.

Step 4: The candidate has 48 hours from the date and time of the email to send an explanation of the flagged background check with or without supporting documentation back to the administrator for consideration. The candidate may request an expedited review process which will be accommodated if possible.

Step 5: The administrator will send the flagged background check and any explanation/documentation provided by the candidate to the (three member) background check review committee (committee).

Step 6: Within 48 hours, the committee will review all information provided and will make a determination by majority vote as to whether the flagged background check will prevent the candidate from receiving certified coaching status.

The committee may consider any and all information to make their determination
including but not limited to:

        Flagged background check
        Explanation/documentation provided by candidate
        NNL Code of Conduct

The committee will deny certified coaching status to the candidate if the flagged background check is a blatant violation of the NNL Code of Conduct or if the flagged background check poses a substantial risk of harm to the NNL, its competitors, or its spectators.

Step 7: After a determination has been made, the committee will provide a Background Check Determination Summary Sheet to both the NNL board and to the candidate. All determinations are final.
